Australia has openened itself to the aupair system. Girls interested
in an aupair position in Australia may apply any time. If you are
decided to give a new turn to your life and if you fulfill the following
conditions, please fill in the online application. There is no charge
for girls.
Au pairs receive board and lodging and AUD$ 150-$180 weekly in return for helping in the home for 25-30 hours per week (about an average of 4 to 5 hours per day). Normal tasks are childcare and light housekeeping (tidying, cleaning, cooking and babysitting). Families do not want changes all the time in the interest of their children, so the minimum stay should be at least for six months.

All visitors to Australia must purchase their own return airline ticket and arrange their own travel and health insurance.

In order to be allowed to work as an aupair, you have to obtain one
of the following visa:
- Working Holiday Visa
- Students Temporary Residents Visa

Applicants from the USA may apply under Special Program
(subclass 416) which allows them to work 20-30 hours part time in home
childcare.
The WHV is momentarily only granted to applicants from the 17 countries
here listed:
Canada, Cyprus, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Holland, Hong Kong, Italy, Ireland, Japan, Korea, Malta, Norway, Sweden, Taiwan, United Kingdom.

The STRV is not bound to nationality. Any foreign student may apply
for the Overseas Student Program (OSP). Applicanst must undertake
a registered course or part of a registered course on a full-time
basis. English language intensive courses for overseas students are
recognised as well. Au aupair employment allows students to curb their
costs of living or study fees, because they may work up to 20 hours
a week, during holidays even full time.

Procedure
To get your aupair job in Australia, you have to do the following:
- fill in the online application now, then:
- apply for one of the aforementioned visas
- send two references in English (not of friends or members of your
family)
- write a "Dear Family" letter to your prospective family, in which
your present yourself, talk about your background and your own family,
your work experience and explain, why you wish to come to Australia
- get a medical certificate from your doctor stating your health condition
- join two nice and recent photos
- send a police clearance certificate
After reception of your online application we shall send you the postal address to which you have to forward your documents.
Aupair positions are not limited to students, as explained. While
other countries restrict aupair jobs to girls of about 25 years, they
may be up to 30 years in Australia. This is a great chance for all
who have finished their studies or their professional education and
who are looking for new possibilities or who simply want a year off.
You can be placed anywhere in the country. Apart form board and lodging
you will receive about AUD$ 125-$180 per week in return for helping
in the home for 20-30 hours per week, thus an average of 4-5 hours
per day Monday to Friday.
You will usually be staying with a family with young children and
you will be expected to help in the home with light housekeeping,
tidying, cleaning, cooking and babysitting. The minimum stay is for
three months.
Applicants from the USA may apply under Special Program (subclass
416) allowing them to work 20-30 hours part time in home childcare.
Other countries soon to join - but not yet allowed - are Spain, Singapore, Malaysia, Greece, Israel, Austria and Switzerland.
